Wonders Never Cease...

So Katelynn's been very anti-nap lately. It's been 4 days since she's taken an afternoon nap. This has led to some frustrating situations, like being super cranky around dinner time or throwing fits over the most irrational things or for absolutely no reason. Saturday was particularly bad since we wanted her to help a little with the baby's room. Matt & I tried to put just a little paint on her brush to let her paint and she came unglued. She wanted to do it of course. But her thinking was dip the entire brush in paint, not dab any off and then swing it around, sending paint everywhere.

We took turns watching Katelynn as a result. Matt rolled the paint on while I watched her. Then I finished the trim as he watched her. She did much better at helping us clean up the room.

Sunday we thought for sure she'd go down for a nap. And again, she was not going for it at all. After some more fits over headbands and other insignificant stuff, by 7:45 she was ready for story time and bed. I didn't notice this too much, but Matt said while he read to her she was having a hard time keeping her eyes open. We said that it was time for bed and for her to grab her blanket and baby. She hopped off Matt's lap, grabbed her blanket and baby and walked to her room. Strange. Usually we have to carry her in there. Then she put everything in her bed and climbed in. Were we seeing what we thought we were seeing? Then she laid down and said, "Night, night!" Our determined little girl just put herself to bed! Without a fuss!!!

Keep your fingers crossed that she'll go down for a nap this afternoon.
