A Spaceman's Life Never Slows

This past week has been a busy one for the old spaceman. The week started off fairly quietly with a trip to LA on the last day of February. Next it was the red-eye flight back into West Palm Beach to beat the grand parents in for their annual pilgrimage down to Florida for Katelynn (albeit a new tradition) and spring training baseball. The two seemed to to go well together. The four of us went to a game on Saturday while Mommy Erin got some well deserved time to herself at the mall.

Katelynn and baseball seemed to be a good combination. As you can imagine, Mom and Dad weren't the only grandparents at the game and Katelynn quickly took note of the nice people who stopped to say nice things to her (she would often throw her hands up and clap with a little smile as if she was saying 'yea more people to adore me'). She's quite the little people watcher and she zooms in on the little kids frolicking about. There was the incident with Katelynn and Dad's cup resulting in ice going everywhere, but fortunately no one was drenched in the process.

Perhaps the most heart warming moment was when we dropped off Mom and Dad at the airport this morning. Mom and Dad had been riding in the back with Katelynn all weekend (Katelynn's car seat was in the middle with Mom and Dad flanking her on either side). It seems that she got quite used to the extra attention. When it finally came time for Mom and Dad to egress the car to retrieve their luggage and depart for Indiana, Katelynn's gaze found Mom and Dad walking toward the curb. Her thumb fell out of her mouth and her eyes widened as if she was saying "Hey were are you going? Come back here and entertain and adore me." Needless to say, I think Grandma and Grandpa got their money's worth out.

Katelynn's going to be one year old next week. I can hardly believe that it will be a full year. We are all excited that we'll be up in Indiana in just two short weeks to celebrate her first birthday with our family and friends. You can bet on a blog entry and photos afterward!
